You insired in me to do the poem ,Hands previously
posted on WW the other day. It was after reading
A Father's Joy ,that I was able to compose Hands.
Today ,I chose your word .. waiting.. recently used in Life After Chldren to write this one called : Worthy Expectations.
So I thank you for the inspiration and your lovely use of the words in your poetry that have helped me
to form some of mine.
Humbly,
Julie
Worthy Expectations
Waiting is what we accomplish now.
Farmers work hard, moving the plow.
Watering ,weeding to provide a good crop,
A whirlwind of tasks and no way to stop.
Decent money is scarcely ever made
slaving away at a much needed trade.
Feeding this country to both rich and poor.
The poor getting nothing, the rich wanting more.
Roosters sound off at the break of dawn,
as streaks of sun brighten the green lawn.
Another day has begun of back-breaking work
Rain on the crops would be a charitable perk .
The farm is quiet when night starts to creep
Many prayers are said before going to sleep.
Waiting to see what tomorrow will bring
on the farm ,in our lives and everything.
Waiting to smell success on the farm ,
or will a tornado strike bringing us harm.
Resting ,thinking and praying away.
May all be well on God's next blessed day.
What is it that you keep waiting for?
Awaken now and begin to explore.
Go out and catch your dream today
Waiting will lead to further delay.
Golden years are made of all your days
that you work hard under blazing sun rays .
Tend to your crops and prepare to be fed
precious morsels of the Lord's Heavenly Bread.
Dear Julie:
I am pleased you were able to read my work and "feel" a poem of your own. This is the terrific part of the website, not only the encouragement we all benefit from, but the fact we become inspired by one another. It is impossible to write anything of any worth without the inspiration of other writer's styles, opinions, and general outlook on life. I know for a fact, I would have given up my poetry several months back without the presence of all of you in my life. Thank you, Julie, and to each one of you for everything. Keep writing, Julie, I enjoy being "inspired" by you as well.
