This poem is for Krisi and anyone else who's feeling sad. I hope it helps. Actually it was partly inspired by the song from Sound of Music - My Favorite Things.
Happiness Is
The feeling is so fleeting
Keeping track's so hard
When trouble overwhelms us
Perhaps we need to make a card
Describing joys and wonders
Those moments too soon forgot
Simple, everyday pleasures
Here's some of the list I got
The soothing sound of music,
Fireworks, cuddling with a pet,
Traveling to Barbados or Aruba,
A colourful, tropical sunset,
A cool breeze on a warm day
Or a warm one when it's cool,
Rainbows, birds, and butterflies,
An in-ground backyard pool,
A new book by a favorite author,
Powdered sugar on thick French toast,
A surprise call from a close friend,
Getting support when you need it most,
Flowers, solving a hard puzzle,
Crystals shining in the sun,
Relaxing in a scented bath
When at last the day is done,
Party decorations, a recovering pet,
Receiving a well-earned compliment,
Having something to look forward to,
Being given the red-carpet treatment
My personal list's 7 pages long
And it's growing every day
Appreciate all the wonderous little things
Spirit continuously sends your way
God Bless You All
Pam

You're absolutely right, Pam! When we stop to smell the roses, so to speak, life is much easier to cope with! It's quite easy to ignore all the beauty and wonder around us when we're depressed or sad - and I just heard the kids come in from school, which means I'd better go make them some hot tea and a snack, it's brutally cold here...
Very upbeat, lifts a tired spirit. I love the night sky so much, when I'm walking the dog I tend to walk with an 'inverse' curviture of the spine ........ most peculiar ......... only jesting!
