I found out I was adopted, and it was not through my parents that I have found out. Through relatives though. I dont know what to feel or how to act. I am with them right now, not at my own home where I can just sit in my room and cry. What will I do, I dont know where to start.

It's too bad Pam is offline at the moment, she's our resident expert on adoption issues, being an adoptee herself. My friend Megan was also adopted, Krisi, maybe talking with her one of these days will help. I think her and Pam both knew all along that they were adopted, though.
What are you going to do? Have you talked to your Gramma about this? You're going to have to talk to your parents about this sooner or later, and we'll find your birth Mom, don't worry! Life's really tough some days, eh?
I 'm giving yuo a cyber hug. I'm not in your sure and can not know what it is your feeling. It must be such a whirlwind of emotions .
I tell you this though, I know through your writing , what a lovely sensitive person you are , blessed with a daughter and blessed with good friends around you and online.
I'm going to offer a bright side for you to reflect upon right now. You've been through alot in life and this may have been the best time to hear what you just heard. Not too soon and not too late.
Take it in real slowly because you have a little one who needs you. Talk more to your friends and relatives about the adoption news.
Look at the blessings in your life and I am thankful to know that you got adopted. There are many souls , that don't get adopted and they waste away in decrepid unmentionable circumstances.
Please go slow and careful with this new information.

Bless your heart! This has to be emotionally charging for you. My daughter, Theresa, went through somewhat the same experience when you was told her "Daddy" was not her biological dad. It was a shock for her too. That was over ten years ago, and at the time, we all had a difficult time at first. Then one day out of the blue, she came to me and this is what she said, "Ya know, Mom, a mother and father aren't just people who begin your life for you. Your real parents are the ones who have loved you through life." Very wise for a twelve year old! Love is so precious, Krisi, and love is what makes a family. When you look at your daughter, I'm sure you see those beautiful eyes and touch that sweet head, and your heart overflows! Whether she was adopted or not, you would feel the same way. That's what makes you her Mom, and as little as she is, she understands that. So just take some time out with a deep breath, and love your daughter. It's amazing what that can do. I have given much thought to your announcement and feel that, however much I would like to, I cannot offer advice on such a profound personel experience. I think also that heed must be taken from the replies of Alice, Julie and Suzanne.
