Angel Kiss

Woman – you will always be mine
And that – I firmly believe.
So, quietly tell me, my woman,
“Did your Mother sew your heart on your sleeve?”

Your words spin me into dizziness,
So many bemused webs they weave.
So, woman, let me lightly ask you,
“Did your Father place your heart on your sleeve?”

Your soul spills over with forgiveness
Always willing to offer reprieve.
So please, my love, bestow what you know,
“Did your Sister paint your heart on your sleeve?”

Knockbacks, kickbacks, cowardly smacks,
Yet still, you have the will to achieve.
You do what you do and I’ll always love you,
“Did your Brother rest your heart on your sleeve?”

I know you from the centre, I know the whole,
Forthcoming, yet sometimes quite naïve.
Kiddo, I love you and I think I know that,
An Angel kissed your heart on your sleeve.

Angel Kiss

May 31 2004, 5:01 PM

Hello Sir Rusty,

Sweet and tender is how this literary piece speaks.

It is amazing what trials and experiences women must endure during this lifetime in this world day after day-- They go on strong and with warmth & compasion because an angel created by our merciful Lord was sent to place a heavenly kiss on her precious heart. It must be.

I like your poetic theory and at this time -it is what I choose to believe , my friend.

Go with God,

Julie

You amaze me, Rusty....

I'm so tired I can barely lift my fingers to type, but how could I not say something about this so very sweet poem, my friend? You are such a romantic soul, Rusty! We should have a smiley face with a big grin, because that's what's on my face right now, and I don't know how to translate it into words in a brain fogged by 37,000 feet in the air flying home and not enough sleep from working intensely. You'll just have to look at a picture of me, and picture it for yourself...

Thanks, Rusty. A very lovely poetic tribute to the Ladies and Angels among us.

Alice

You're the Angel, Rusty!

Rusty, you've done it again, lifted my heart up when it's down with your lovely work. Thank you so much. It's a silly place to leave a heart though, on your sleeve, it's liable to get damaged.

I emailed you, my Dear, I hope you'll soon be sitting at your computer. It would be good to hear from you.

Love and Big Hugs,

Alice
