Are you kidding? Forget about you? You were one of my favourite young poets for a few years, Jim, I don't think I could ever forget you! Actually, as a favourite young writer, you've yet to be replaced!
The depth you wrote with as a teenager was amazing, Jim. I remember reading your first poems very clearly, your first submissions to the Writer's Voice, amazing work from someone the age you were then. I'd love to see what you write with a little more growth under your belt.
I'm really glad you stopped by here! I don't know if you know I sort of 'resigned' from the Voice, whole long and ugly story, but I stopped working on it, unfortunately for all the young writers. But by the time I stopped, there were over 700 writers I'd befriended, helped, encouraged and edited over the years. And now I've been working full speed ahead on my own work, got my second book just published, working on a biography under contract to an American man in Iowa, way too busy! The sun's out there shining on my beautiful yard, and I'm sitting in here working!
Very nice to you see you, my young friend! Please email me and catch me up on all the latest, and that way I'll have your address in my email address book too.
Don't worry about dry spells in your writing, life is long, and when you're not actually writing you're filling up on 'content.'
Write me, all right!?
Love and Hugs,
Alice
