Forgiveness
There’s a spectrum of thought
That once bought,
Leads one to believe
There’s a sense of reprieve,
When asking forgiveness for every sin
But then repeating them again and again.
Now hold fire boy, that’s not implied,
No such thing as a free ride.
Whether beginner or regular sinner,
Repeats disallowed, no gratis dinner.
OK, a slide once in a while
Well ….. that may be granted with a smile.
So the boy thought awhile,
Then pushed his stash aside,
Pained, aggrieved but with a comma of a smile,
He relunctantly glimpsed lost pride.
And so … there’s a spectrum of light,
That once one can invite,
Leads one to believe
It’s possible to perceive,
That when asking forgiveness, for every sin,
Is not a continuum, it’s where one begins.
So rejoice boy, first step, you're freed,
And now the real world will creep,
Future's bright but not guaranteed,
See that intense promise, as you weep.
