Rusty, you are our resident expert in things British - what do you have to say about the fox hunt banning, and the protests?

Here's a link about it, but I'm interested in your own thinking:

http://edition.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/09/15/fox.protest/index.html

Why on earth would the government decide to meddle in a centuries old private sport? Not that I'm a fan of hunting and killing anything, but this has been going on for eons in Britain, and is still quite popular, as far as I know.

Thanks Rusty. How are you doing?

Alice

Protests

September 19 2004, 12:25 PM

Alice

This protest immediately achieved a couple of things.

1.) We don't always take government flak lying down.
2.) They could do with new locks on the doors of the House of Commons.

The whole situation could escalate because it isn't only about fox hunting, it is about our way, (and ways) of life being doctored for the benefit of another term in parliament ............. and so it goes on!

Rusty's doing OK, paddling his canoe upstream, into ever thickening mist, the river banks are growing taller and closing in. The rythmic slap of paddles in an otherwise dead silence - he feels a verse coming on and the need for safe harbour - yet at the moment his journey must continue ......
so he thinks of Alice and wishes her the best of everything life could offer .......
