Alice and everyone,

Humor me again ?. I need more . Something unexpected was revealed to me yesterday.

I spoke to the lady who runs the bookstore where my signing (next Saturday)is going to be ...Alice she has a videographer taping the book signing.

I chose this little bookstore on the purpose that IT WAS LITTLE . It was small , you can actually miss this bookstore if you ride on your bicycle fast enough.

I left with the butterflies in my tummy.

I am shy . I am a writer . I communicate best - well , Like I am right now!!

UGHHHHH - I feel a disaster coming on.

Jokes more jokes . Tell me that this a joke on me .

I know how you feel, Julie!

I don't like the whole promotional/publicity aspects to this either - but being video taped could be a good thing! I hope she's got a big turnout planned, then the camera can focus on all the customers around your signing table instead of on you so much.

Try to take some deep breaths and relax - just wait, next it will be me being a bundle of nerves, I have to write to Chapters today to talk about extensive book signings with them. And soon the whole ball of publicity wax is going to melt all over me, when I'd much rather just sit right here and write!!!

I've never been any good at remembering jokes - maybe someone else can help you out again in that department. Just try to relax and take it as it comes, Julie. My best defense against something I'm really nervous about doing is projecting myself a day beyond that - like, by Sunday, this will be over!!! Try it, maybe it will help.

And when all else fails, I fall back on my Grampa's advice about how thinking about doing something we're not wanting to do is always twice as bad as actually doing it. He's usually been right - you might actually enjoy the experience, and sell some books!!

Love and Big Hugs,

Alice

I find it hard to think past the event. Can I drink the Champagne beforehand????? pretty please???

I guess I should also know how to...sign my name?
