It would be very nice if we could somehow make 2005 the year that the world finally learns to live in Peace? Do you all think that's simply too much to ask - or, if we all concentrate and hold a vision of a peaceful and harmonic world in our minds and hearts, do you think we could make it change?
After the recent Tsunami, my own book 2055 is scaring me. I don't really want to have to pull dead bodies out of the water and burn them, or learn to adapt to a whole different lifestyle. Not that I'd really mind a much more simpler life personally, but the death and upheaval it means is appalling.
Let's really try and raise the consciousness of this world, so everyone will see how foolish warring on each other is. God will save the Earth before He will save the majority of greed-motivated fools who inhabit Her. Personally, I like having my computer and certain comforts, and would rather see the world re-orient itself towards saving the planet we are given the privilege of inhabiting, instead of constantly chipping away at Her and scarring Her with weapons.
Must be Sunday, I see I'm on my soapbox. Maybe I need to start writing weekly columns again. Did anyone notice that that old webmaster wiped all my weekly columns off the old site? Would any of you like me to resurrect some of my Suite 101 columns and post them here? And in case any of you are wondering, I have forgiven that man, but that doesn't mean I have to let him back into my life. I do thank God every day that he's moved from next door and his house has been torn down.
Your work doesn't belong in the care of a fool , Alice . You must look forward and look back no more. Do you hear me , beautiful brave woman??????
You Alice, have helped us , encouraged us and we are very thankful to you for allowing this group to increase in number with some fantastic writers on board.
To all here , let me express my gratitude in getting to know al of you through your literary works. You are all a blessing to me.
Thank you Alice for maintaining an uplifting website for writers.
Hopefully, sometime but I don't think in 2005. It will take time.
Terrorist bombs, suicide bombs etc., seem even more pointless and, (in the right context), totally pointless in the light of nature's wrath.Yet still they go on, even though they've been made to look total morons.
At the moment we have freedom of speech, to a point. Let's hope we don't have to pay freedom of thought for the price of freedom. Technology marches on at a frightening rate ............
On that glum but still optimistic note - I wish everyone a happy and peaceful new year.
