A Special Friend

A Special Friend

I met a special friend today
It came out of the blue
I simply walked in through the door
He said, "Hi, my name is Lou!"

I felt I'd known him all my life
Instantly comfortable and at ease
He listened while I told my tale
A good audience, eager to please

Though I'm now more than middle aged
There's only been a select few
That I could without fear or shame
Completely open myself up to

I'd actually come out to visit
An old friend, my very first
Found a brand new kindred spirit
Quenching a personal lifetime thirst

He was as amazed as I was
For a joyful link, brand new
We have a lot in common
We're even the same age too

Over the course of 5 days
And much to our surprise
We're both pupil and teacher
Mutual healing is our prize

This meeting was not happenstance
I believe it spiritually arranged
Though we continue down diferent paths
Our lives were forever changed.

Very good poem too, my dear! It's always wonderful to meet a new supportive friend, and I hope you and Lou are keeping in touch and enhancing each other's world!

Keep coming back here when you can, Pam, your work is very good, and obviously from the heart.

Love and Big Hugs,

Alice
