Yesterday

Lingering thoughts bring me back to a place
When I first felt the joy of sunshine
As it gently warmed my face.

Thankful for the memories that readily appear
of an adventurous, carefree child
favoring the days of yesteryear.

Reflections and glimpses from many moons past
Mind portraits recollect my earlier seasons
Hidden in my heart, engraved to last.

Catching fireflies at night, splashing in the bay
Remembering pleasant moments so clear
As it if were only
yesterday.

And such an appropriate title for me to see today, considering that my own immediate yesterday was my big 5-0 birthday party! Sorry, I just didn't get to the computer to see this yesterday, pretty busy day.

THANKS!! You've added to my enjoyment of my day in a big way, because this is the first thing I've read this morning!!

I'm so glad I had my party on Sunday, following a cold and rainy week, because it was the perfect summer day, not a cloud in the sky, no wind, and even a Peregrin Falcon sitting on the roof of the house two doors down, overseeing the party and 'talking' for six or seven hours. It was awesome! And this morning is cold and rainy again, so I'm glad I've got a quiet day planned with just a few very close friends in for cake and coffee this evening. Gonna drop in?
