I'm Exhausted!

This is why actors make so much money I guess, it's exhausting and a lot of work!!

'Daughters of Joy' isn't a movie after all, it's a TV mini-series, which is really cool, since I can watch it in the privacy of my home instead of in a theater - and so can all of you!!

I'm not sleeping very well, too much in my head from everything going on down there on the set. Long days, over twelve hours on set every day, and almost an hour there and back to the location. But I'm certainly going to be in this, they have me on-camera a lot, and I don't have makeup on so anyone who knows me will certainly know it's me!

I'll try to tell you all more about it late tonight or tomorrow - but I will say that Robert Duval and Thomas Hayden-Church {used to be the mechanic in a TV show called 'Wings'} and a man I've seen in movies enough times to recognize but only know him as Chris, are all in the series.

It's fun, something totally outside my usual activities, but it really is hard work. And I think I might just be involved in more after this, because I've found out I certainly can 'act' as soon they call for action.

Love and Blessings All Around,

Alice

A writer is often naturally blessed with acting, having had to take the perspective and emotions of countless written personalities in mind.. I'm very interested in seeing how this turns out!

It's actually fun, Jim

I said that to somebody on the set the other day actually, that it's probably my writing that allows me to throw myself into character on demand.

It's a lot of hard work, and my body is certainly feeling the effects today, but it was so much fun it's well worth doing. My Agent asked me last night if I'm willing to do more of this kind of thing, I said sure!

I'm sure Daughters of Joy will be on a major network and well advertised, but of course I'll let everyone know! Actually, I'm going to send out a mass email in the next week or two telling everyone the release date for One American Dreamer, and I'll include something about my 'acting debut.' Maybe by the time I do that, I'll have more solid information about Daughters of Joy to pass along.

Thanks Pam!!

I'll be sure to let everyone know when the series is going to air - I'm sure it will be well-advertised, with Robert Duval in charge, and probably be on the major networks.

A certain little teddy bear pin from Las Vegas came along, pinned to my gorgeous silk backpack from Thailand. I also had a good night's sleep finally last night, thanks to you, Pam.

I talked to my Agent last night about handling my saloon girl song for me if the production is interested in it, told them I'd be happy to give them their 15% of all that if they can take care of the business end. Told her I can sing if they ask. Chances are they won't even use it, but I've always dreamed big.

I had tons of fun, and more attention and compliments and hugs from men in four days than I've had for ten years, and I enjoyed all that too! Maybe I should get out more, eh?

Love and Big Hugs,

Alice

Here's some links about it

September 26 2005, 3:55 PM

Between my oldest daughter, Donald {my Biography subject} and myself, we've found quite a few links about this mini-series already.

Here's three:

I'm really glad I didn't know it was such a big-deal production before I got involved, or I might have been much too nervous!!

I'll let you know if this leads to any more work - Robert Duvall is also involved in the Brad Pitt movie that's being filmed in town, wonder if I'll end up working on that?

I've been trying to upload a webpage with a few pictures, but it hasn't been working. I'll phone my ISP later and find out how to put them on my webspace on their server.

I'm going for a long hot soak in the tub, I'm still feeling the effects of all those long days!

Love and Big Hugs,

Alice
