A silly little tale from my childhood, unfortunately true, and destined for the Children's Poetry segment at Wondersmith West as soon as I find the right graphics. Anyone still wonder why I've been a vegetarian for 25 years?

I Remember Peter Rabbit

I remember Peter Rabbit
On that special Easter day
I just could not believe my eyes
A bunny!! There's no way!!

But sure enough, there he was
In all his twitching glory
A fun new friend to play with me
And he sure could tell a story

He told 'bout the dogs he'd played with
The hunters who had missed him
Told me that he loved me too
And liked it when I kissed him

We played and played and talked a lot
Then he was gone one day
My Dad said try this tasty supper
Rabbit stew - NO WAY!!

Hey Alice,
This would make a wonderful children's book with bright colors for the eye. Something you might want to consider.
Good to be back.
Love,
Suzanne

Hi Suzanne!!

May 1 2006, 11:21 PM

Good to see you! Hope you're enjoying the Spring.

Yes, I've thought this would be a good children's book, I have a few I'd like to have published for children, but just had The Two-Legs rejected by the publisher I thought would be perfect for it. Always seems like I'm beating my head against the wall in the 'real' world!

Hope you're feeling well, Suzanne, and getting stronger as the sun gets hotter. I'm always really glad when you drop by.

Love and BIG Hugs,

Alice
