Morning

Shrivel every night
Thoughts of next day
Of all worldly dangers

Early hours
Our darkness
Secrets are ours

I smell your sleep
See your face so sweet
Smiling and deep

You stretch
I stretch
You yawn
And the day is born

Struggled embrace
Face to face
Kiss and coffee

Breakfast rushed
Kiss
Still and hushed

Doorstep goodbyes
Waves
Circled OK’s
Seperated sighs

Bye Love
Be together
Later today

You paint such pretty pictures, Rusty

It's quite funny how often my imagination sees me as the she in your poems, my Dear. Of course maybe all your female readers and fans do the very same thing.

Thanks for putting a smile in my morning - strange morning here, it was 24 degrees Celsius here yesterday, was out planting Lavender in the yard, and this morning it's just started SNOWING!!

No wonder Canadians are such an interesting breed, eh? I think we have to invent some sort of teleportation device for mornings like this!

Love and Big Hugs,

Alice

I like it...

Rusty,

This hovers dangerously close to haiku-land! You're a braver lad than I...

I love the minimalistic approach this piece takes. Through your brevity, you maintain a solid storytelling posture, not easily done. When a writer is told to take away the very words we use to craft, it becomes very difficult to get our point across, no?

You do that very well in this piece. You continually impress me, young man! Accolades to you, my friend.

Hello dear Rusty,
I enjoyed this piece as I do all of your work. It feels good to get back and read the wonderful prose and poetry everyone on the website has to offer.
Going back and read some more, as a matter of fact.
Best regards,
Suzanne
