Let Me Go – Teenager’s Plea


Let me go
I wait for the world and the world awaits me.
I must fly
And die helping others while others die in aid of me.
A missionary
Treading where all but the dead fear to tread.
A poet
Saying what is feared but saying what should be said.
I must cry
Shared tears, share fears with the best, the oppressed.
Let me kick
Balls of fire into hearts of presidents and passive residents.
Need to love
Humanity for the sheer goodness behind so many eyes.
Burn the lies
That have ruled us forever and to do so in grand gesture.
Set me free
To show children their infinite future through procreation.
That one life
Taken, is generation upon generation, maybe a nation.
Kick me out
Into turmoil, amidst souls living on, surviving from, our soil.
Let me shout
About direction, affection, protection and resurrection.
I need you
Neglected, rejected, misdirected with God in your hearts.
Need the world
To unfurl it’s arms, face to face, global embrace.
Please shoot me
Or boot me free, so I can help free humanity.

Getting inside a teenager's head could be a little frightening. You did a great job!!

Lots of people always want to be young again, but I wouldn't want to be a teenager again with all their angst for anything.

I'd chat more, but have to go outside and water all my new little Lavender plants before it gets too hot, already 15 Celsius at 7:15, going to be another scorcher.
