Blossoming rose
Scenting the wind…
Collecting dewdrops
While it grows.
Collecting dewdrops
Early each morning
Ready to greet
Small secret guests
On breezy stops.
Ready to greet
Eyes that see
A blossoming rose
In all her
Beauty.

I love roses - I have a particular scented variety, purplish in colour and totally thornless. (Probably radioactive through human intervention).
As a child I tried boiling rose petals and then selling the water, (door to door), as a perfume ...........
Paid for a few ice creams. |
