They made their presence known to me
Though I was not able to see
The angels of our Lord nearby.
Help from a spiritual realm
Arrived in time to take the helm
Of my damaged, earthen vessel.
They steered me out of the pit.
Gentle and kind was their spirit.
I will never forget those days.
Like a breeze just traveling by
Many wings take motion on high
Ready to help more souls in need.
Psalm 91:9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Thank God for the Angels! Including the Earthly Angels like you, my dear friend.
Just wanted to add that of course I've prayed a great deal for my friend, but I have the horrid feeling that once a person has made the choice to join the devil's army, even my prayers might not be able to help. I've had to realize that he'll never be the same, never be my friend again. I hope one of these days I can wake up not thinking about this, and simply dwell on the good in my life.
Never fall to despair when it comes to praying. Praying is talking to God, and He hears us. When you pray, and your petition is for someone else, you may never see a difference in them. But the act of prayer is an act of love. And there truly is nothing that can defeat true divine love. God's heart warms when we pray for others, even those that seem hopeless. I'm convinced that when we pray for others, we are opening ourselves to let God's love work through us. God's love shines through you. I see it in your words all the time. What an example of love you are to this person!
I pray every day for a better world of humanity and never give up. What else is there for us mere mortals?
My love goes out to you all, be you Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Church of Scientology, Aethiest - you are Human and Vulnerable, you are strong and weak, you are strong, proud and frightened and may God Bless you all.
I consider myself a child of God, not pegged to any religion, even though I was raised a Catholic. There are wonderful people in every creed and race and religion, and I too love all people.
Thanks for putting such a heartfelt and meaningful message here, Rusty.
Thanks for leaving such a sweet message here, Dave! I haven't even been over here in a few days, last bit of the boys' summer vacation up here in Canada so I've been trying to spend time with them and do some last minute activities. Took them out to the big local museum yesterday, always thrilling to wander through ancient times - a friend is the Ethnology Curator, so we even got a behind the scenes look, which was very cool!
How have you and yours been? We don't talk nearly enough lately, but fall and winter will have us all in front of our computers much more than we are in the summer, so we'll all catch up with each other.
