Riding primeval black rock of iron
Hurtling through cold, lonely space.
Moons pass me by – sightless eyes,
Zapping bleak and barren upon my face
And deep into the universe of my mind.
Universes; too many to know,
Too many to go to, too many to find.
Celestial wonderment, no above, no below.
Riding mindless black rock of oblivion,
With shadowless mountains and valleys,
Through an ocean devoid of everything
Except secret silence and crewless ghost galleys.
God bless imagination, freedom, escape
To a friendlier landscape. Into an Angel's embrace.
She looks deep into my face and tears fall.
As my hopes die – our souls interlace …….
Riding weapon of planetry destruction,
I see a throng of sobbing Angels. Heavenly heartbreak.
Blue speck grows rapidly larger – I sense life.
Planetry tragedy – another sense I can’t shake.
I stamp the rock, shriek and scream silently to God.
Stars wink unwittingly. In the wink of an eye
I travel a billion miles and see a billion smiles
Turn into one God Save Us Almighty cry.
Riding God’s gnarled, crooked, dirty finger
I writhe in desolation in black dust. Angels died.
I hit the planet and split it into smithereens.
Riding the rock in baseball cap and new blue jeans.
Light years away, I cry for that day,
As a green speck grows rapidly in front of me.
No Angels to call on. Has God given up?
We miss the planet and sow seeds of a chimpanzee.
