My youngest daughter Miranda finally had her baby on February 25th, two weeks ago tomorrow, turned out she had to have an emergency ceasarian and she developed a severe infection in the incision area. We've been told things like the hospitals are so DIRTY it's no wonder, and that when it's an emergency like that they just 'hack into' the mother to get the baby out as quickly as possible, so the infection comes as no surprise to the medical people.
Miranda has just not been well at all, so I've been extremely busy night and day looking after all the regular household chores plus a never-sleeping but totally gorgeous baby girl, Margot. I'm not getting any sleep, finally just moved the baby into my room overnight for the past several nights, so am averaging maybe two hours sleep per night, and have been very stressed by Miranda's condition. Finally by today, after God knows how many trips to the hospital for treatments, she looks a little more like herself, so I'm hoping that means she's actually begun to heal.
Thank God Miranda and the baby are right here at home with me, God must have known there'd be dreadful complications and they'd need me. She has her own apartment waiting on the other side of downtown, but I thank God every minute that they've been right here at home with me through all of this dreadful business. I thought I was going to lose Miranda on Tuesday when she began bleeding profusely from everywhere, but it seems that things are finally getting under control.
Haven't been writing much of anything even in the weeks leading up to delivery, awake most of every night listening for signs of her going into labour since she was overdue, but one of these days I'll actually get some sleep and start feeling human again, I'm sure.
I'll do my best to come here at least once a day again, and look forward to seeing more excellent work from all of you.
Love and Blessings to All,
Alice
