This is one of my Spring poems I wrote many years ago, I think the illustrated page I'll link at the end was made in 2001 by my friend Mary Lou Mulloy. Just about eight years that I've been on the Internet now! Incredible!
Some Days We Are the Flower
Some days we are the flower
Some days we are the weed
Some days we are the garden
That nourishes the seed
At times the rain pours down on us
At times, the sunshine bright
At times the silver moon glow
Illuminates the night
I want to be the grower
In God’s vast flower groves
I’d like to reap the harvest
For every time I strove
Against the pain, the agony
The conflict that is life
To find the flowers among the weeds
And go on with my life
God
When you take me Home again
Do you think that I could be
The one who plants the flowers
The one who tends the trees
Could I bring some to you daily
In a sacred golden vase
Could I then rest at your feet
And take a little pause
From all the daily dramas
And duties to fulfill
From all the work you make me do
As I perform Your Will
I am still Your Instrument
But I am getting tired
Thank you for sending such good friends
To help me stay inspired

Cool, and some days we are the strawberries! A neighborhood friend just called and said he's got some strawberry plants to bring over, so I've got to go out and pitchfork up more of the garden. I totally love being here in the midst of this great big city with my little 'farm.' Only livestock are cats and dogs though, but now I do have chicks and hens too - they're just plants, not critters.
I love Spring, have I mentioned that a million times?
Hope you all are enjoying your surroundings, take time to smile at the flowers and buds on the trees.
Love and Blessings to All,
Alice
