In The Willows
In graceful arms that softly sway
Sweet angels strum gold harps they play.
True harmony, I can clearly find
Closing my eyes, to see with my mind.
Within the willows are the dreams
Of many who have crossed the streams
To reach the trees that silently weep
Now holding our secrets in their keep.
Among the willows long and green
Where time is joyful and serene
Shadows dance upon her ground
Where winds of enchantment can be found.
The willows kindly wave and greet
All the souls that come to meet
At a place where they can rest or hide
Wanting to be protected inside…
Inside the branches of this tree
Are moments of tranquility.
It is here where I begin to pray
Within the arms that softly sway.

Psalm 137:2
We hanged our harps upon
the willows in the
midst thereof. |

Nice to 'see' you again, after a long absence and what a lovely poem. I've read it several times - it gives one hope ........
The poem itself is as gentle as the willows.
I have a willow in my garden, it was planted in memory of someone dear to me.
You must visit more often - give Alice fair warning and I'm sure she'll put the kettle on - or better still - bring out the port and brandy !! |

Nice to see you too. Thank you for your kind words and yes it's time for us to clink glasses.
Here's to us !!
Is there a book of your prose/poems fastened together yet that I can grab ? What's happening with that , friend ?
Peace and Blessings always,
Julie | |
