Really nice to hear from you both and BIG congratz to you Jim !! How long are you in Germany and were you in the USA when your daughter was born??

As you both know, I live in the (currently) cold, damp, and murky UK - depression is the new buzz word and unemployment is the new employment and if we haven't got any money our Prime Minister is always willing to print some more. (Does that remind you of anywhere else!!??

I watched Barrack's inaugeration - it would be very interesting to hear your views on the Man himself. My Views?? .............. Well - he seems a nice bloke with brains, common sense and charisma. I watched a programme about his life thus far and didn't spot any hidden skeletons. This all sounds good for the USA and the world BUT (call me a cynic)is he too good to be true?
I hope he is The Genuine Article and I also hope he has the balls and 'know how' to bulldoze his way through red tape within the government and put his ideas/policies into action.

I'm not a political person but we sure do live in interesting times.

Look forward to hearing from you both again (and anyone else, who may think they are eaves dropping).

My views are much the same: the man is a fine orator, seems genuine and driven by the very best of intentions. However, I do worry that his ultimate plans are too big to be tackled without sending the country further into debt. In Canada we too have public health care, and are still dealing with the financial repercussions of that, to say nothing of his plans for the environment and energy generation, education, and foreign relations.

That having been said, I wish he and america the very best of luck.

On another note (I've only just made certain), this summer I'll be staying in the uk with my girlfriend, likely near oxford. If you don't mind, maybe we could grab a cup of tea, shoot the breeze, good times

Cheers,
Daniel

Hello Daniel

Sorry about the delayed response, work has taken me away from my keyboard.

Please let me know when you are coming to Oxford, UK, I would love to meet up with you. Oxford is Approx 140 miles from where I live - so very doable (I've not checked but it must be a word!!)
