Okay, we have observed that participation has dropped off a fair bit in the last week so we thought it might be good to check with you all.

Are we moving too quickly through the book? Too slowly?

Do you like discussing the book in this sort of setting?

Do you like this particular book?

Would you all feel more like participating under different circumstances?

Let us know how things currently stand with all y'all.

Thanks!

Hey! Are we still on Interview with a vampire? I have been gone a few days and I would like to know when we start a new book. Could you please post something on the HP discussion board when we start a new one so I can participate?

"You know what? said Fred. "I dont think we are. George, I think we've outgrown

"Yeah, I've been feeling that way myself," said George lightly.
"Time to test our talents in the real world, d'you reckon?" asked Fred.
"Definitely," said George.
And before Umbridge could say a word, they raised their wands and said together,

Yeah, I'm loving "Interview." I never would have read it if Chris didn't start this book club. Thank's, Chris

Besides, if we are moving to fast people can just read and post in those posts.

Would it be okay to post it on Dakota's board, do you think, Sandy? Or would that be too much like useless advertising you think? I mean if they don't mind over there I don't see a problem with doing it to let you all know when we move on.

Glad you are enjoying the book Andi! I am still way behind you guys though. I just quit my second job yesturday (1 day shy of 2 weeks, that is the 3rd longest amount of time I've kept a job, kind of sad really...) so I think I'll have time to catch up soon. Yay! I'm right at the point where we started the check point 2 discussion lol.

The book is "OK" - I wouldn't have chosen it if not for being part of the discussion. It was pretty much already chosen when I got on. I don't hate it and I will finish it. The first part was good, second part pretty flat.

I don't think we are moving too fast, because I can always be a part of "old" posts if I'm behind and I can be patient if I'm ahead.

It is difficult to have a rich exchange of ideas when there are only a few people posting, so I'm sorry to see the participation has dropped. Although I'd rather read/respond to a few good posts than a lot of "filler talk"

I'm all for continuing until the end..sounds like the next round will have a lot of input on book selection!

I don't see why it would be a problem to post on Dak's board when we are ready to move on. At that point, there might even be some new members there who might want a piece of the action.

As for the current book, I'm not wild about it, but I don't hate it, either. I would not have read it if not for this book club, so I am glad to have something prodding me to extend my tastes a bit (even if this one wasn't quite what I love, it was at least, different ). So, I say we forge ahead and advertise like mad when we are ready to begin the next book.

Speaking of advertising, I advertised on Kat's board, the old "Hate Helen Club" board, and TigerLily's 2 boards under her two names. I suppose it would help if anybody ever visited those boards lol!

Hello again everyone! I haven't been online in a week due to some very unusual circumstances, but I'm back now and ready to talk about the current book. I really enjoy this club and the book we are reading (even though I've read it before) and I'll commence contributing again now that I'm back online (except right now I'm trying to weed through everything new from the HP board)
