YAY!  I'll be first... I'm not proud.

I suggest "And Then There Were None" which is also found under the title, "Ten Little Indians" by Agatha Christie.

Ten individuals are invited to a secluded manor (on an island, if my memory serves) at which point, all sorts of mysterious things begin to take place.  If I told you much more I'd give things away.

Sandy, you took my book! Chris, that is also suggested by me. Great book, great movie. (At least the first one.)

"Many Waters," by Madeline L'Engle. Great book. Two twins, Sandy and Dennys, mess up with their father's computer and are transported to a hot desert. They discover they are transported to Noah's time and "many waters" are coming to sweep the desert. When one of them kidnapped, the search is on to find them before they are drowned. Can they succeed?

What about "The Bell Jar" by Slyvia Plath? I'm supposed to be reading it for English right now... lol. Until I start/finish that I shouldn't participate in anything else I hear Ten Little Indians is terrific though

Ellen Foster by Kaye Gibbons - story of a young girl from a bad home who choses a good life for herself.  It has an interesting twist.  Its easy to read and its not a long book.  Its very uplifting and acceptable for all reading tastes.

I really don't have any suggestions. I'll just wait until the 10 spots are filled and then I'll vote for one of them

How about "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen?

I heard it's very good. It's set in the 1800. It's teh story of this not-so-rich family with lots of daughters and how, one summer, a rich boy, his sister an even richier friend come to stay with this family.

Just wanted to tell you that the small summary I wrote earlier was not very accurate because I was in a hurry. Pride and Prejudice is actually a very good book. Elizabeth Bennet is the second of five daughters, whose financial situation is not too good (they have servants and all, but they don’t have much money). Not far from their house, a young and very rich man, Bingley, his sisters and an even richer friend of his, Darcy, come to live, and being in the 1800 Elizabeth’s mother realizes he can be a very good husband for one of her daughters. While Bingley is really nice and doesn’t care about the girls’ lack of money, Darcy feels superior to everyone, but falls in love with Lizzy. She will reject him for his opinions, though she can’t help thinking of him.
Don’t want to spoil the ending (especially since I don’t know it myself ^_^) but it should really be a good book.

I think theese were suggsted last time but...

The Outsiders- I read that a few years ago, it was really good. The Giver is also supposed to be good, I started reading it today. Strange.. but pretty interesting(Im not very far, I just read chapter 1.

If I can only recomend one I recommend the Giver since I'm reading it anyway.(Unless it starts to get boring, then i'd whats the word... desuggest it)

By the way, I've read both books, The Outsiders and The Giver. They are both really good.

"A Child Called It" By Dave Pelzer

It's about a little boy who's mother is psycho and she makes him do terrible things. She neglects him and beats him, but is a really good mother to his other siblings. It is based on a true story and is the first of a three part series.

Actually, I'd rather read "The Giver" but since we need 10 suggestions to start voting here's mine. I would also like to read "The Giver" since I already have it and I won't have to risk being fined by L.A. County. (Chris knows what I mean!)

If we don't have 10 by the 20th, we should just start the vote.

Who can tell i'm really impatient?</P>

Are we going to keep this list after we choose the next one? We should and then just keep adding to it and voting each time.
