It's fine with me.  I'm on page 37 right now.

Well, for starters, where the hell is Nick?  I'm up to page 80 something and he's no where....but now we have Glenn.  I can't get a handle on Glenn yet.  He seems a cross between a footballer who has been hit in the head too many times and a deep sensitive guy who is in the wrong profession. 

The Ivy vamp thing in the kitchen seemed wrong to me.  She likes Rachel so why strangle her?  Ivy better spill the beans about what she is up to or after from Rachel pretty soon. 

 

Gah, still on page 36! Haven't even had a chance to read! GRR! I'm goign to be busy with work the next few days so I'll go and say I probably won't post until Monday on this. I skipped your post and didn't read it so I wouldn't spoil anything for myself, lol. So when I come back to post, I'll read what you had to say, and probably set a date for the next checkpoint lol.

I don't know what page I'm up to but I'll slow up a bit till you're caught up.  Just to tell you, I'm up to meeting Piscary.

Well, I hit checkpoint 1. I was wondering about where Nick is also actually, but since he's been mentioned at least I know he's still here. I hate it when in a book or movie a character with some or major importance just ups and dissapears with no explenation! But, I know Kim must have him in here somewhere since he's mentioned.

The Ivy kitchen sceen actually had me at the edge of my seat! I think something else is up we don't know about yet. I mean she's afraid, deathly afraid. Yeah she's been afraid for Rach's life before, but she's never lost controll over her power like that before. Something's up, and I want to know what it is.

What do you think Trent is? If my memory serves me correctly, Kim said (not in the book, but either in the interview Ihad with her, or on her web site) that she lets us know what Trent is in this book. I can't remember all the detail I had in my explenation since it's been so long since I've read "Dead Witch Walking", but I'm still sticking with my theory about him being an elf. What are your thoughts?

Okay, we are almost 1/4 of the way in so far. What's your opinion, even though we don't yet have enough info to actually back anything up, do you think Dan's dissapearence and the Witch Hunter Murders are linked, or was it staged to look like it was linked? I'm witholding my opinion so far because we don't know enough to back things up yet, but what about you?

I think Dan is missing because he's seen Trent do something. 

This plot is a bit too angsty for my taste so far.  Rachel seems sort of without direction so far.  In the first book she had a good clear direction.  I hope it all starts to make sense. So far i liked the first book much better.

What do you think?

I don't think we have enough info on Trent to say what he is.  It seemes like he's a one-of-a-kind.  Givent he way magic seems to work, he should be really old too.
