Okay, back from my two month ignore the book club spree...
First off, if you want to skip my long, long post here, you can just scroll down to the bottom for the book club's reading list schedule so you know my currect plans of action!
Secondly, I would like to appologize to anyone who is interested in the book club and was waiting for a new book to be picked. The reason for the delay is because of the new Harry Potter book coming out in July. I've been trying to catch up be rereading the original five. I'm on the fourth one right now.
Normally I try to stay away from Harry Potter here as nearly all of the people who have participated in my book club have come from the Harry Potter discussion board I am apart of, so therefor I see no need to have it in both places. As far as the next book is concerned however, I may invite the other board over here. When the last book was released, Order of the Phoenix, the Harry Potter board went into read only mode so the Moderators could read the book before reterning to moderator duities a few days latter (basically letting them read it without moderating the board of spoilers, and potentialy ruining plots for themselves). The board is doing it again this time around also. Now last time, I did invite all of the board to post here during the read only phase if they wanted to, and I intend to make the offer avilable this time around also. So, while the Harry Potter board is read only, this place will potentially be crawling around with Harry Potter addicted maniacs, so take that as either an invitation to yourself to join, or a warning to stay away (your choice lol).
Now, moving on past the Harry Potter phase here. At the end of June Kim Harrison's next book, "Every Which Way But Dead" will be released. We have done both of her first two books in this series in the book club, and fully intend to read the new book here also. Now, based on my own slowness in reading Harry Potter and getting that out of the way, I am guessing I won't have time to pick up a book that is not Harry Potter until after Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is released in July.
After that, we'll guess Wednesday, July 20th, we'll start reading Kim Harrison - "Every Which Way But Dead" at that point for the book club. *****So, for anyone interested in Kim Harrison who has not read the first two books, you have until July 20th to catch up if you intend to join, which this invitation is, as always, open to all.*****
After that book is finished, I know sometime in August, not sure the date at the moment, Christopher Paolini's second book in the Inheritence Trilogy, "Eldest", will be released. We read the first book, "Eregon", as one of our first books in the club, and it had a great turnout compared to the last few books. I'm hopeing with "Eldest", maybe we can draw in a wider crowd?
Well, after "Eldest", I know MadEye sugested taking a break from supernatural and fantesy, and I have to agree after so many books in a row! So MadEye and I thought that John Grisham's "The Rainmaker" would be a great way to change the subject.
The next book after that will be Dean Koontz's "By the Light of the Moon". I bought this book a few weeks ago and have been dieing to read this.

Book Club Schedule:
Now - July 16th: Anne Rice, Christopher Paolini, & Kim Harrison
From right now until July 16th the book club will not be reading any new books. However, I am inviting you all to join the club from now until July 16th to reread and discuss "Eragon" by Christopher Paolini, and both books by Kim Harrison, "Dead Witch Walking", & "The Good, the Bad, and the Undead" in order to refresh your memories for the upcoming book club picks. Also, I am going to try and get the old Rice-aholics, and some new ones, back on the board to get the Anne Rice discussions back up. After the 16th this topic will not be closed, and I welcome and encurage the discussion to continue, but it may get lost in all of the Harry Potter mayham after the 16th like 2 years ago with the last book. I will continue in any discussions that linger on in this topic after to keep the interest flowing.
July 16th - July 20th: J. K. Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince"
During this time period, I am inviting the members of other Harry Potter forums to come join us for the book release. However, since I generally do not put Harry Potter on this book club, after the 20th we are starting a new book. Any lingerers are welcome to continue to discuss Harry Potter if they wish, but the main focus will be to move on at that point.
July 20th - ???: Kim Harrison's "Every Which Way but Dead"
As of the 20th of July, we will be starting the 3rd Kim Harrison book, "Every Which Way but Dead". I do not have a dead line to finish yet, but I'm hopeing to finish before the release of "Eldest" in August.
August ? - ???: Christopher Paolini's "Eldest": Book 2 of the "Inheritence Triology"
Once this book is released, and Amazon sends me my copy, I'm opening up discussion for "Eldest". I strongly recomend rereading "Eragon" before this book is released since it's been so long since we've read the book. For those of you who are interested, "Eragon" was recently released in two more versions, a paperback and hard cover special edition. The Special Edition of both have an excerpt from "Eldest"'s first chapter. I read it at the book store and I got lost since it's been so long, so I do recomend rereading "Eragon" first.
September ? - ???: Grisham & Koontz
At this point I'm guessing it will take place in September. This is subject to change, as it will depend when we finish "Eldest". If we finish and it's still August, then we'll start then, if not it'll be whenever we finish in September. But, I'm trying something different this time around. For this round of the book club, I'm going to have two selections run at the same time, and see where that leads to. If it works out, it won't be the last time we try it. The two selections at once will be John Grisham's "The Rainmaker". I chose this one with MadEye as it'll be something completely different then the usual supernatural book we usually get since it's about lawyers. The other book will be Dean Koontz's "By the Light of the Moon". If this works out, I'll probably run a supernatural/sci-fi/fantasy book and non supernatural book at the same time with each selection.

As a last note, I may end up moving this board to a new host with better formatting. I'll post news if the move is to take place.
