Bc heating the coils for an electric heater actually costs more than a/c down here, our winter electricity could cost us more. So the heat pump does help in that respect. But our prob is that we have our home zoned. When we supplemented our older system we updated one half of our house with the heat pump, and the other half still has the old system. So for us, I haven't noticed any change (bc I have a whole other system I'm running now!).
