It might stop people like Yates ........ if there were explicit laws on the books stating that God does NOT have any jurisdiction on earth to instruct ANYONE to commit an indictable offence?
I kind of think it might. If you know that it's NOT Kosher to listen to God, in order to make life and death decisions, perhaps the temptation wouldn't even exist.
