Manson wasn't exactly in the same frame of mind as Yates. There was no question that IF he persuaded his "disciples" to commit those murders ........ it was utterly premeditated on a thoughtful basis. In short, his mind was "sound" enough to plan the murders according to (very) human parameters and not according to spiritual instruction.
