I was trying to draw out, was ......

How MUCH of our common acceptance and belief in "doing God's will" above and beyond any man-made laws ............ AFFECT the perception and behavior of common folk?

Would you find an Andrea Yates doing what she did in -say- Russia?

Here, we still swear on the Bible in court, before testifying. Why? Isn't THAT sort of supporting Andrea Yates own convictions? That God is somehow paramount -above and beyond any man-made laws?
