Response to What could be accomplished? |
| ...... the way the universe works...
Look at vegetation. Once upon a time there were beautiful forests of cedar trees in Lebanon known 'world-wide' for their innate quality. That's all vanished now.
Nature keeps dying and renewing. It doesn't necessarily progress to any higher state of consciousness.
Is mankind ACTUALLY progressing in any way? Not really. If you were to put a new born baby into a wild environment, that baby would know NOTHING about anything that we take for granted. It would behave essentially, as an animal.
So all the "progress" we believe that mankind exhibits from 1000 years ago is really only stored in records and has to be relearned by each successive generation.
The problem with learning 1000 years worth of accrued discovery is that we don't have enough time to do it before we pass on ourselves. Our life-times are too short to properly absorb all of the nuances.
What's the "answer" then ........ if we'd like to see mankind "evolve" into something closer to "righteousness" with each successive generation?
Well, maybe a human manifesto would help. This would be written by sages, drawn from all over the world and composed into an outline of human activities as far back as can be known, with branching references to all the events so that people could check them out and read about them if they wanted to. But the main charter would simply be a synopsis of each event with conclusions drawn about those events on an individual basis.
Something like
World War 2:
What was learned about WW2 is that the people of a country can be swept up into national fervor by a dictator who promises Utopia .... but ultimately it resulted in massive destruction for that country and for the world in general. See: Japan, Italy as well.
Such a manifesto would be neutral with respect to nationality or races but WOULD point out experiments or development of things that had been tried with the various philosophies.
This manifesto would then become the new "Bible" for the world. It would constantly be added to, as events unfold ........ and then summarized and concluded upon by each generation experiencing the events.
I suppose it would get big enough to look like an encyclopedia, with sections pertaining to time lines.
If there WAS such a manifesto, people could refer to it for making new decisions.
For example, what lessons can be drawn from the Afghanistan invasion, the Iraq invasion ....... in order to give some guidance for how to deal with Iran? Now we only have a lot of conflicting opinions. A group of international impartial scholars writing it down in a book would have little difficulty pinpointing the issues, the claims, the previous results and .......... the obviously logical conclusions for dealing with the new "crisis" in a more constructive way.
