When Christians advocate living as Jesus did ....

Which parts? To be a true Jesus-follower .... you would need to become like "that". Otherwise, did Jesus actually have any clues about real living?

You get into Paul's teachings and he was far more developed. He actually ORGANIZED stuff ...... and HIS teachings reflect it. There IS a "salvation message" in his teachings that's worthwhile for following ..... but it's a kind of 'parallel' psychological message for successful living.

Paul didn't advocate loving your enemies. His advice was more aligned to ...... love the people in your GROUP and ........ as much as you possibly can, live peaceably with ALL men.

Jesus advocated an abandoned trust in God ("take no thought ... food, drink, clothing, shelter") because these things will take care of themselves as long as you're seeking the kingdom. Paul said, 'if a man won't work .... let him go foodless.'

So ........ in the situation I cited, Jesus would probably have advised you to LEAVE your house and property because it doesn't matter anyway. Leave and go follow something. Paul would have said, "NO ...... don't be silly. Your assets are valuable to our community and cause. Deal with your enemy in as PEACEABLE manner as you can. Don't get mad, don't get vengeful ...... but stand UP for yourself against this enemy as if he were Satan himself. "

See ....... Paul was actually advocating a system and a WAY ...... to make the system work and prosper.
