Let's do it! Our Indiana Down syndrome Foundation Buddy Walk is in Indianapolis Saturday October 13th, so come on down/over/up! Here is what I have tentatively thought plan wise:
1. Friday Oct 12 - 14th
Hotel in Noblesville at the Fairfield Inn & Suites http://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotel-information/travel/indnb-fairfield-inn-and-suites-indianapolis-noblesville/ This is very close to our house
17960 Foundation Drive Noblesville, Indiana 46060 USA Phone: 1-317-776-9900 rates look like about 90-100 a night. Indoor pool Check-in: 3:00pm Check-out: 12:00pm Continental breakfast free. To make reservations by phone, call 1-800-228-2800 in the USA and Canada. I am going to check with them this week about getting a group rate and blocking out about 20 rooms.
OR you can make your own reservation downtown Indianapolis as the Buddy Walk is there but I couldn't find good rates. Friday night if there are enough people in town we can meet up at Applebees or something....more later.
2. IRL will be at the IDSF Buddy Walk October 13th Saturday Indianapolis
https://www.indianadsf.org/buddywalk/
Military Park at White River State Park, Indianapolis http://www.in.gov/whiteriver/about/map.html
Also will ask for ideas about forming a team to walk, name of the team, and T-shirts. Maybe Becky can decorate them on cafe express? I will stake out an area and have balloons designating our spot. Bring a blanket, any extras needed for your kids. There will be a sack lunch provided (hotdog, chips, banana, cookie, water/pop) but the Walk is long so bring strollers/wagons/joggers.
I think we will just hang at the IRL at Military Park until mid afternoon, then everyone can head to Noblesville to the hotel, unless you are staying in Indy. Up to you. Downtown Indy is great but couldn't find a hotel room less than 200 bucks. The zoo is right there, and Children's Museum too. Feel free to branch out and stay downtown Indy and then join us at the IRL in Noblesville.
Saturday night...not sure yet.....who wants to plan this?
3. SUNDAY OCT 14TH IRL at Nash's House 11-2pm in Noblesville. We will provide brats and hotdogs/buns. I will later provide a "bring" list once we know how many are coming. Plan on "creek" clothes. Yes Laura, we actually name them this as if you go in the creek you need to have clothes on that will or could be just thrown away! Then you get hosed down outside. Plan on a bonfire if it's chilly and plenty of outdoor activities. (hey who wants to plan these?) If its hot we have a water slide we will put up so bring a bathing suit. If it's raining, then everyone can pack up from the hotel and head for the movie theater in Noblesville or head for home, so lets hope for good weather!
How does that sound?
So...............who is coming? I will post this on the board as well as the IRL.
Just for kicks, I did a mapquest search to find the distance from my town to yours, and it is just under 7 hours by car. That's actually do-able. I'm gonna have to check my calendar and just see what might work out. Hmmmmm.....

I was so excited and was trying to fiquire out a way to convince dh, but the I realized SOCCER! Sorry did not mean to yell but darn it anyhow we are still in soccer season here.
I will be checking in for updates and can not wait to see pics.
My son would never forgive me nor would his coach. Long story short. His coach did not choose in first round draft because she knew that Ryan was in second round draft. She needed to pick first in second round draft in order to be sure and get Ryan. Other coaches were wanting him. She says he is that good and next year will probably be first round draft pick. She sees a major future for him in soccer and this is also what he wants to do. Do I hear scholorships to get him through college. Hope you all have a great time and think of me sitting in my lounge chair on the side lines cheering for "Peanut" as his coaches have nick named him.
" Go Peanut, Go Peanut, get that goal. Yeah"
Enjoy your weekend. Hugs to all
We'll be able to make the BW this year. We'll have to take off pretty soon afterward since that evening is the Light the Night Walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Can't wait to meet you, Rhonda!!
Saturday the Buddy Walk. I will provide my cell phone via email to those that want it. I also will be leaving a packet of information at the Fairfield for those staying there with info and directions.
Bring: blanket, snacks (lunch will be provided but its not very "baby friendly" like sandwich/hot dog etc.) I will have an area set up with red balloons and Dash balloons for our team theme "Dash with Nash". Cameras!
Saturday after the walk: head to the hotel to freshen up/naps and the IRL will be 4-8 at my house.
Bring: things that can be used later at one of our Parent meetings unless you want to take them home if they aren't eaten like bags of chips/pretzels/cans of pop/bottles of water. We will provide brats and hotdogs for kids, and buns/condiments. BYO alcohol. Lists will go out via email.
Activities will include a neighborhood hayride too! And if weather is nice a trip to the creek. Just a relaxing time, and bring any lawn chairs/blankets.
Sunday- no plans yet as I plan to just relax with whoever is still around and but I can meet for brunch and might arrange that. Remember if you are wanting to gather a group you can head to the Indianapolis Zoo, Children's Museum if weather isn't nice....who knows I may join you all with Nash!
Jan,
We are thinking we are going to come out for the IRL. It will be our first and I am thrilled at the idea. Anyhow, what do we need to do to sign up to walk? Do we just meet up with everyone on Saturday? Do I need to send you some money? Let me know.
So, email me with your email for the IRL email loop I am starting. More details will be shared there, probably more emails than you want but, hey! Its the Indy IRL!
You can be part of the Dash for Nash team, but there are a few other gals that have their own teams at the walk. I know Kim and Peggy probably have their own teams, not sure. But no money is required. I will try and get shirts for everyone. Sizes will be part of the massive email loop.
so more info later, but if you don't plan on getting a hotel room and doing the IRL after the Buddy Walk then just meet us at the Buddy Walk and look for the red Dash balloons!
