We are here to share therapy tips, medical issues, laughs, accomplishments and yes, even frustrations. We embrace what Trisomy 21 has brought into our lives. We feel that it has taught us to appreciate the true meaning of life. We count our children as blessings! We will fiercely protect them and fight for their lives to be valued just as all other peoples' are. We share our pictures, our stories and our hearts here not only to provide friendship and support for each other, but also in the hopes that others will open their minds and their hearts to our unique children and, in turn, make a better world for everyone.

I would seriously consider getting a mutt....mixed breed. Pure breds are so over bred that you can't ever guarentee what you will get.

Either way, I wouldn't get a little dog. Get a sturdy dog. Remember, never leave a child alone with a dog.

Also, a dog may percieve an action that a human thinks is non threatening, as a threat. Many children are injured and killed by dogs and the owners of the dogs don't ever see the warning signs.

I could go on and on....but for starters, I'd check with local rescues and foster programs. Fosters are wonderful since they have been with the dog to know it's personality.

Any way around it, good luck!!
