Response to Oh
I think that all of us on this particular board are a lot more intelligent than to blindly consult Dr. Google. That is exactly the kind of thing that a patronizing RE might say, Don't trust what you read on the internet.
Is this board not on the internet? Did we not all get here because of yes luck, but also the ability to think rationally and independently and to research important issues on our own?
when I say research this, I am assuming that the OP is an intelligent, thoughtful woman capable of doing her own thinking. Yes I am certain that SSRI's can cause damage, sometimes invisible, and obviously others have posted their differing opinions. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens and it is a risk that I would not recommend. What I'm saying is the minority, unpopular viewpoint these days, so it's not as if the OP isn't going to hear the exact opposite of this from most people.
I will post a couple of sites worth looking at in my opinion, one of them is askapatient dot com and the other, paxil progress. There are many others.
I am aware that my tone sounds sloppy and not particularly kind. I do not mean it to, but the amount of work it would take to write this all in a gentler, more accommodating and sensitive voice is just too exhausting for me to work on right now. I am not hostile towards anybody here but I think that people are extremely misinformed about the true nature of SSRI's and especially prenatally, so I recommend that the OP or anybody else interested in this topic research it as intelligently and discerningly as they would anything related to IF. Anything you decided, would hopefully be the same decision you would make after thorough research, whatever that decision may be.
