I wish that more people had visited me in the hospital when life was "easy" b/c I had a whole cadre of nurses at my beck and call! When you get home, life will be chaotic, to say the least. I didn't want ANY visitors other than immediate family for a couple of weeks.
Don't spend a bunch of money on fancy gowns and robes for the hospital. You'll spend your time in hospital gowns. Be sure to purchase a couple of pairs of nice, comfy pajamas with buttons or nursing slits if you plan to breastfeed...and a nice robe in a color that doesn't show dirt is much needed (you'll practically live in a robe and pajamas for a while). Whatever you buy, be sure to think about ease of breastfeeding (if you plan to breastfeed).
Also, go to a lactation store and get fitted for nice nursing bras as soon as possible. The sleep bras are great for around the house, though.
