for getting back to me about this. I'm sorry to hear you are going through this, but it sounds like your doctor is being pretty aggressive and willing keep trying things. I hope, hope, hope it works for you. And I TOTALLY know what you mean about feeling like the whiny new mom. My GP keeps asking me over and over "how's the baby sleeping" like the only thing that is wrong is that I am tired. But my dd amazing sleeper - has slept from 8 pm to 7 am since she was 3 months, and since my DS just started really being able to sleep through the night this last summer (when I couldn't sleep because I had a rare live complication that made me insanely itchy all night in addition to being pregnant), I have slept better in the last 2 months than in the last four years. I'm like, "It's not the baby. It's my HEAD." I'm going to ask about steroids tomorrow, but since it took two Medrol dose packs to get the ICP itching under control after the birth, I'm not sure they can give me more. The beta-blocker is an interesting option though. I'll ask. Even though I don't think mine is migraine because I don't have any of the migraine symptoms (I've had a few migraines in the past with the light sensitivity like you said, and nausea, and they were AWFUL) except, well, the headache of course, but I bet even if this is a sinus or tension headache, some of the treatments you are doing might work for me as well. So, THANKS THANKS for responding. I really appreciate it and I hope you are able to break the cycle soon. If I find anything out, I'll let you know.
Oh - and I had a spinal block for my c-section but since it was 5 months ago, I am not sure it could still have an effect? But it's a really good point, and I'll ask my GP. Thanks so much again! Take care. Hugs to you and you new little one. |
