I know I havent had a chance to post much but wanted to give a different perspective regarding the GD test. My doctor put me a special diet prior to the actual test. I was confused since I havent heard of others doing this and my doctors rationale was they want to load you up with carbs to see how your body responds to see if you COULD have gestational diabetes. While I was all about not eating particular food prior to the test, his rationale was that I was tricking the test and unless that is how I eat everyday then my own pre-diet would void the test results. He believes it is better to see how your body responds to the worst case scenario.
Not sure I completely agree with this logic but thought I would pass along a different perspective. By the way, it turned out I did have gestational diabetes but who really know if it was the special diet I was put on or if I would have had it anyway.
