For me it's now feeling the kiddo move. Makes me feel so much better!
I saw that article and was worried about cleft palate, too, but this thought occurred to me and really helped: This is totally non-scientific but... if there was a really good case for P4 and cleft palate we would have sooo many on this board, since we have all had P4, and I only remember one in my couple of years here. (And, as I recall, the baby was a totally cutie-pie and Mom and Dad were doing everything to get ready for surgery.) Also, a dear dear friend of mine was born with cleft palate and, after time and correction though surgery, you would never know! Yes, it's a hard road and scary but can be fixable! I'd put that worry aside.
