Hello,

I posted last month and got so much support from this board that I am hoping you can help me again.

I'm 42.5. TTC for 5 years. Had 4 rounds of IVF over the past 2 years. I;m a low responder and only made it to transfer 1x. Two cycles were canceled (the most recent two). One cycle had a decent response, but the doctor couldn;t do the transfer because I have a curved cervix (very disappointing, but in the past...). I've also had 3 surgeries the past year and a half, including a myomectomy for a large uterine fibroid.

Shockingly, I've had 2 spontaneous pregnancies in the past 8 months. The first time I got to almost 8 weeks, saw the HB, was overjoyed and then had a mc. In May, I had another pregnancy, likely a chemical, the second beta went down rather than up!

Since both pregnancies were spontaneous, I had no hormone support. When I asked the doctor if I need crinone, etc. - he said no and explained how the corpus luteum works and why its no necessary outside of IVF. With the second pregnancy, I didn't want to take any chances so I took crinone for a few days (before the second beta) "just in case" (and with my doctor's knowledge).

So ... I also asked for the doctor to check my estrogen and progesterone. He said not necessary. I said what the heck and asked the phlebotomist to check these, too. The results were staggering. At my second beta (which was low), my estrogen was TEN and my progesterone was 5.6 (not fifty six ... that is five POINT six). I believe both numbers were REALLY low.

My doctor has told me that with my dismal response to high stim IVF, OE IVF is pretty much out of the question. He's said that I would have just as much a chance trying on my own ... My fsh has fluctuated, but it was once as high as 15.7 after CCCT. My AMG was dismal, too, at .3 (tested in April, just before I got pregnant).

So ... I have a follow up appt with my doctor next week. Given my dismal estrogen and progesterone when I was pregnant, I was thinking of asking for estrogen and progesterone support every menstrual cycle just in case since DH and I are actively trying to conceive on our own. Does that make any sense?

What other questions should I be asking? I am hoping to leverage your wisdom so I can advocate for myself in an intelligent way.

Thank you for listening and for any advice you may have.

Best wishes,
M
