We found it useful, as far as I can remember. We ended up taking 3 classes in total: birthing class, baby care, and infant CPR. I also took a breastfeeding "class", which was one session.
The truth is that when reality hits and the baby is actually here, at least as far as I remember, everything you learned kind of goes out the window. It's exciting and overwhelming all at once, but hard to put your head around everything you learn in a class and then really apply it to real life.
That said, though, it was useful. I remember learning about swaddling (had NO idea) and bathing, which helped a little, though we were petrified when we actually had to bathe our real tiny baby
Good luck! Enjoy! I just liked the feeling of doing something and meeting other parents, some of whom were in all of the same classes.
ps I should also say that the most important is infant CPR. It makes sense to get refreshers along the way, too, which we haven't done yet.
