Do I need to do the counseling before CVS?

Hi,
Sorry for the multiple CVS questions over the past couple of weeks. Mine is scheduled for later this week.

I was wondering what all of your thoughts are on this: is counseling before the procedure necessary? I'm crunched for time (as is my mom, who is coming with me) and I had the counseling a few years ago when I did the CVS when I was pg with my DD. I'm only doing it now because of my age (39), not because of other risk factors.

So is it necessary? The receptionist says not having the counseling would cut down the time there when I asked.
