Thanks for the quick replies below, but wanted you all to know Baby B looks good...heart rate was 168 and Dr said everything looks fine. Said it was probably the lost twin causing all the bleeding...and really in hindsight, it was just spotting b/c I haven't had any more since then. I probably over reacted and the Dr just said in the future I can always come in but it's really only concerning if it gets worse. With my history, all this happening at 12w1d really threw me for a loop. Gotta just try and stay calm and make it through the rest of the week.

I don't think you over reacted at all. Anyone with your history would've felt the same way! Take care, and hope no more scares for you.

I am so relieved. You were not overreacting, especially given your history. So glad all is well. And, the hear rate isn't as high as it was last time right before your losses either, which I know worried you.

This is going to be a long week for you I am sure. Heck, I am a nervous wreck for you. Only difference, I can now have a glass of wine to calm MY nerves. Find your new pregnancy vice this week and use it liberally:) I suggest Ben and Jerry's.

Thinking of you and will continue to keep you and baby b in my prayers. You can never have too many.

In regards to your questions below about placental issues, I was asking the tech about my placenta as she was measuring...I asked if she checks for blood clots in the placenta at this point and she said it's a little early to see much with the placenta but she did say it looked like it was forming in a good position....on top of the baby...not down towards the cervix. And she checked my cervical length and it was 36mm which she said is good and long. So that's all good. They couldn't see any new bleeds or anything which I think they would see if there was a placental tear right??? I don't know much about the placenta stuff b/c I haven't really gotten far enough along for it to be something they look at closely.

Hi Amy

November 29 2010, 6:55 PM

I would think that they would see a tear. I just started thinking about what would/could cause losses around the 12 week mark and remembered that is when the placenta takes over so I (and my non medical degree combined with Dr. Google's assistance) thought maybe that would be something to ask about. Just seemed like maybe it wasn't a coincidence, but as we all know doctors tend to believe there are a lot of coincidences that we think just might not be coincidence after all. Who knows, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask or look into it.

I think everything sounds good! I just want this week to go smooth for you (and the next 20-28 too!)

Keep updating us.

Kelly

Oh, you must be emotionally exhausted! Take it easy the rest of the day. And, no, you didn't overreact one bit given your history.

I just couldn't believe your original post when I saw it. But boy am I glad to see this post now!! Hang in there Amy. It's been a long road to get here and history has given you every reason to have fear and anxiety and every other emotion out there. But with today's news you have lots to be positive about. And never feel like you over-react to anything. You have a little life to worry about.
