did anyone fire their OB/GYN in their 1st trimester?February 14 2011 at 10:12 AM | Anonymous (no login) |
| and if so how did it go with the new OB/GYN? Did they start from scratch or was it an easy enough transfer?
For days now I have been seriously considering giving my OB the boot. Actually since the very first u/s we had at 5+ weeks. Like it's been said on this board...there should be OBs JUST for infertility patients. Thank God I am also still under the care of my RE.
There are several reasons why I am considering this but to give you a recent idea of why...at the last u/s he said the heartbeat is normal. I said great what's the BPM. His response? "Do you really need to know?" OMG! What kind of an question is that?! Of course, "YES!" was my answer back! He's lucky I didn't take the u/s wand out of my fuzz and wack him with it. C'mon, is asking BPM such a RIDICULOUS question? |

My OB did not have much experience with triplets so I went to the best high risk docs in town. You may be able to get into high risk if you have any factors like m/c or AMA. I read somewhere that IF patients should always be able to get into high risk and I agree!! That way you get such better and personalized care like more frequent US and a doctor who understands your concerns for something random going wrong. Yes- multiples is a special case, but IF puts you in a different category. All I did was have my records sent over. I think my old OB was glad to be rid of me actually! |

After my NT scan too. So, I was at the end of first trimester. The only part that was hard, was getting the new place to take me. They apparently don't like to do that to their colleages. I explained that I was simply NOT happy there and needed a new dr. Period. I had to speak with the office manager and she approved.
I am SOOO happy that I swithced. My LO is almost a year old and I am still so happy with my new office. They were AWESOME. If you are uncomfortable now, it will only get worse. I would change asap.
Good luck.

I switched in the first tri with a high risk pregnancy. The original doc had misinformed me about the results of my cvs. Told me there was a problem with the baby when in reality, the test was contaminated..good thing I had a feeling and did not trust her.
My healthy baby is sleeping safely in her crib! |
