Pregnancy Exercise Tape Suggestions??

Good Afternoon Ladies, and Happy 4th of July! I tested pg a couple of days ago but will wait until I see h/b to join you officially.

I've been walking and doing eliptical, but I'd like to get some input on good exercises that are also safe for the middle body. That's where I gain weight and my stomach turns to mush in no time flat if I don't work on it as well as doing cardio.

Any suggestions on good pg pilates/yoga type tapes that are specifically made for pregnant women?

A couple of recommendations

Firstly, congratulations. Hope your betas double, and everything goes well for you.

The two dvds that I used to do were:

Shiva Rea prenatal yoga;
Erin O'Brian prenatal fitness fix.

wrt core work - it only really matters once you are in the second tri. It is important not to lay flat on your back for long periods.

Hope you enjoy these. I am partial to shiva rea, as I really love her yoga practices.

I bought this DVD during my first pregnancy and did it until the day before I gave birth.

It's nice because it has different poses for each trimester.

I loved doing yoga before getting pregnant, but you can be new to it and still enjoy this DVD.

prenatal pilates

I have been doing the 10 min solution prenatal pilates with Lizbeth Garcia dvd. I like it because you can select by area (core is one) and because on days when I don't feel up to doing a lot I can just complete a shorter session.

Just be careful not to get your heart rate up too high. And congrats happy.gif

I've been told by my buddies on the other board not to do anything until I'm further along than walk. That said, I will keep these suggestions and check with RE when I go in for Beta #1 on Thursday as to when I can engage in this type activity. THANK YOU!
