Something VERY interesting about the recent Duggars miscarriage

I couldn't believe it when I read it...a progesterone mention!

"On Dec. 3, I felt a little uncomfortable but I thought it was just something I'd eaten. It could have been the beginning of something going wrong. I had my blood drawn yesterday, and it showed that my progesterone levels had dropped so something was not right [with the pregnancy]."

do you think that low P4 is the sign of MC or the cause?

I wonder about this often because I had the same type of MC where I went for a regular ultra sound check up and the HB dropped down to 35 and I was devastated and still cry over this.

I don't know but progesterone is very important to sustain a pregancy

I don't know what happened in her case and it is hard to speculate. But I just found it very interesting that her progesterone level was checked.

Progesterone levels are very important in pregnancy.

I'm sorry you had to endure a loss. It's terrible. I hope your doctors were able to give you some idea of what could have gone wrong.

if the baby measured 16 weeks

And her appointment was at 19w1d, then the baby had passed away for 3 weeks already...so I think the progesterone level would have naturally been low after 3 weeks. So that doesn't surprise me. No way to know if the progesterone level was the cause unless they checked it around her 16 week mark or so.
