If I am remembering correctly today was your "Big" ultrasound? The "20" week one? I really enjoyed that one and felt such relief after that was over. (for at least 30 minutes LOL..then realized I had about 4-6 more weeks to viability) Oh the roller coaster of IF, right? Anyway I was just checking in to see how it all went. I am hoping all was well. Update us all when you can. You are getting close to 20 weeks, right???

had a GREAT u/s!!!

January 3 2012, 9:11 PM

Baby is measuring 5 days ahead! 69th% or something like that. I don't know for sure. The u/s tech was great, she has scanned me many times and always stops me in the hallway when we run in to each other to see how I'm doing. She is so sweet. And she kept reassuring us the whole time..."this is perfect...and so is this..." And she said she'd tell us right away if anything looked "off" but nothing did! It was awesome!!! happy.gif She said we got a big baby in there and I said I was 9lb 13oz when I was born and she said..."Woah! Good thing you're a planned c-sec!!!" I said, yeah no kidding!

Our MFM was very happy too, low key as usual, but he said he'd like to see me in 2-4 weeks...4 if I'm comfortable but 2 if I'd feel better. (we opted for 2 of course). happy.gif But he said I should take it as a good sign he wanted to wait 4 weeks.

I still have marginal previa, but he's not concerned about that. He's not concerned about my brown spotting or cramping or even my occassional bouts of loose stools. He just said it's all normal stuff and the baby looks good and that's all that matters.

My placenta is anterior or something so they said that's probably why I'm still struggling to distinguish movements. They said in a couple weeks, I'll know for sure then. So I look forward to that! happy.gif

I'm 19w4d today, so close to 20! can't wait to be out of the teens!! happy.gif My tech made me promise to go buy my first baby item as soon as I hit 24 I'll see about that. Makes me nervous, but I know she has a point. For now, I'm doing okay. Thanks for all the support!!!

I can't imagine how nervous you must be. You're getting closer to viability every single day.

So glad to hear this! I had the same placenta placement you have it sounds like (in the front), I didn't feel anything for certain until after 20 weeks. I felt "something" but before that, but I wasn't sure if it was the baby or gas! LOL About 20-21 weeks it was obvious and within a month it was full on movement and kicking! I am SOOOO excited for you. 2 weeks probably seems like an eternity to you right now. I hope it goes fast! Jamison was 9lbs 6oz and he was a few days early, so I hear you on the big baby thing. I would so much rather have that though..he was the biggest baby in the nursery by far. Ha ha!

Good luck and as always keep us updated!!

Placement is huge on movement

January 3 2012, 10:07 PM

Mine were all posterior so felt crazy movement once it started. There was someone else on this board with anterior and I remember her movement was felt a lot less. Soooo happy for you!

Great news!

January 4 2012, 5:15 PM

Sounds like everything is PERFECT!!!! Wonderful news! My (my daughter's?) placenta was anterior, too (I only know this because I had a CVS done and it had to be done trans-abdominally, not because it was ever brought up as a concern) and it caused no problems whatsoever with either my pregnancy or my scheduled c-section delivery. I did feel movement with her, but she is a super strong baby (at 25 weeks, she kicked a bowl of grapes off my belly!) A friend of mine also had an anterior placement though and she said she never really felt anything like "kicking." At the most, she just felt rolling - like her baby was doing tai chi happy.gif, and that wasn't until late in her pregnancy. Again though, super happy for you! Wonderful news!
