Yes and they are better, thank you!
(Long, feel free to skip!)
Monday and Tuesday they were very painful all the time, by Wednesday when I saw my Dr. they were painful to the touch and when I turned my neck but not all the time, so much better. My OB (who I love!) is a self proclaimed "City Girl" and knows nothing about tick bites. (I think I had mentioned one bit me the weekend before just above the swollen glands but was only on a very short time and was a dog tick, not a deer tick. I am in the NorthEast if that helps!) Anyway, she said this was really out of her field and to go see my GP and make sure it was a local issue and not systemic.
But: GP was closed on Wednesday and my glands were even better by Thursday. So, I called my old OB in CT, where I got the bite and this is very common and I chatted with her. She side since the glands were local (not all of them) and I had no other systems, like cold or flu-like, and since it was now over two weeks ago, and since they were getting better not to worry and to go on my trip, no problem.
My OB's only issue was if it was systemic, so would effect the baby, and it is not. She was all set to give me a course of anti-bionics if the GP said to... which my other Dr. seems to think it uncalled for and I HATE to take them in general but especially while PG. I already had once course for a UTI in the beginning of my pg, I really don't want more if I can avoid it at all.
So, I am getting much better, they don't even hurt to the touch anymore, and I am cleared to take my holiday! I will say I don't like that no one really seemed to know what caused them but, for now, all is good!
We also had our fetal ecco on the baby's heart and all is good there, too! So, now it's just monitoring and watching and waiting... which with a "Single Umbilical Artery" cord that seems to be all you can do anyway. There is no special exercise, no special diet, nothing you can do to help but stay hydrated. Great. Makes you feel rather powerless, just waiting for something to go wrong and praying it does not... good time, good time!
Just a small taste of Motherhood, right?
Again, so kind of you to ask and thank you for thinking of me, it makes me feel special!
Hugs to you,
