Bassinets Recalled by Kolcraft Due to Fall Hazard

I had actually purchased this bassinet but returned it because it didnt seem very sturdy and I recall wondering how I knew the side was actually latched since it didnt click in place.

The latches that attach the bassinet base onto the metal frame can appear to be locked in place but still remain unlocked. This allows the bassinet to become detached from the metal frame, causing the bassinet to fall and the infant to be injured

Barge: Check out the book "baby bargains"

May 10 2012, 4:59 PM

This isn't that related since it's a new recall but Baby Bargains has reviewed almost every baby product on the market, including all types of furniture. It often includes past recall information (such as how many times a certain company issues recalls). So if you hadn't heard of this book before, it's really helpful.

As for bassinets, I found the bassinet feature of the pack and play to be sufficient for DS when he was a newborn.
