my yamaha razz won't start= checked the gas, oil, plug, & carb

by (no login)

I have a yamaha razz. I let it sit for two years and can't get it running again. I replaced the sparkplug, checked the compression, gas, and oil. I have taken the carb apart at least 5 times. The engine starts for a few seconds with starting fluid (ether), however it doesn't stay running. I used carb cleaner on the carb and put it back together. It still won't stay running. I don't know what else to check.
